Terms of use and sale
This English version is a courtesy translation. The French version prevails. Version of 30 October 2026. These terms apply to any use of AI-Koma Kids, to any subscription and to any purchase of an extra book. The version applicable to a purchase is the one in force on its date.
1. The service and its publisher
AI-Koma Kids is a service for creating personalised picture books for children aged 3 to 12, assisted by artificial intelligence models. A parent or legal guardian of full age composes a book from closed choices (age range, catalogue characters, world, type of adventure, mood and, if they wish, the child’s first name and a value to pass on); the service writes the story, illustrates it and lays it out: a cover with a title, then 16, 18 or 20 illustrated pages depending on the age range. The book can be read online in the website’s reader (tablet, phone, computer), downloaded as a PDF and, as an option, read aloud. The service is published by Florent Puccini, entrepreneur individuel (EI), Chemin de la Daby, 83330 Le Beausset, France (932 699 697). Contact: contact@aikomakids.com, phone 06 74 81 80 67. Full details are in the legal notice.
To provide the service, AI-Koma Kids relies on technical providers acting as its processors: OpenAI for writing and moderating the text; fal.ai for the illustrations; Microsoft (Azure Speech service) for the optional reading voice; Render and Supabase for hosting, the database and service emails. AI-Koma Kids remains solely responsible for the service towards the user. Payment is handled by Stripe (section 8).
2. An account reserved for adults
Accounts are reserved for adults: parents or legal guardians. When signing up, the user certifies that they are 18 or over (or the age of majority in their country if that is higher) and accepts these terms by ticking the box provided for that purpose. The child has no account and creates nothing on their own: they choose together with their parent, who remains responsible for the use of the service and for the books created. The account of a person who lied about their age is closed without delay.
An account is personal. The user provides a valid email address, which they confirm by following the link they receive, chooses a password that they keep secret and is responsible for the use made of their account; they may add an optional display name. They can delete a book or their account at any time from My account: what is deleted is erased immediately and for good (the book files, then the account), and credits already used are not given back.
3. Creating a book
A book is composed only from closed choices offered by the website: the child’s age range (3-5, 6-8 or 9-12; never their date of birth), one to three catalogue characters (original characters created by AI-Koma Kids) or the child’s cuddly toy added by the parent, a world, a type of adventure and a mood. Two choices are optional: the child’s first name (letters only, 24 at most; a nickname works too) and a value to pass on, taken from a list. No free text and no child profile are requested or accepted; the only photo accepted is one of a cuddly toy or a toy, never one of a person.
“My cuddly toy”: the parent can photograph one of the child’s cuddly toys or toys and give it a name. The photo must show only the toy, with no person, and the parent guarantees they have the right to use it. It is checked automatically, described by an OpenAI model and redrawn by fal.ai; AI-Koma Kids does not keep it: only the drawn portrait is kept, in the parent’s account. The cuddly toy stays private and only appears in that account’s books. A photo refused by the checks is not used. Adding a cuddly toy does not use a credit; the number of cuddly toys per account is limited.
The text is written by an OpenAI language model and the illustrations are drawn by fal.ai from each character’s portrait, prepared by AI-Koma Kids or drawn from the photo of the cuddly toy. The optional read-aloud feature uses a voice generated by artificial intelligence; it only starts if the parent or the child ticks the option. The sound effects, also optional, are fixed audio files, with no generation. Every book states that it was generated by artificial intelligence, on its last page and in the PDF properties.
Books are private: they are only visible from the parent’s account. AI-Koma Kids does not publish them, offers no public sharing and does not use them to train models.
4. Automated checks and moderation
The text of every book goes through automated moderation, with thresholds suited to children, before being illustrated; every illustration then goes through our provider’s safety filter. A book refused by these checks is never shown and its credit is returned.
These checks greatly reduce the risks without removing them: a drawing error, an inconsistency or a clumsy sentence remain possible. We recommend that the parent reads the book with their child, or before them. If they consider some content unsuitable, they report it to contact@aikomakids.com, stating the book concerned; a person reviews it and replies. Any automated decision can be contested in the same way.
It is forbidden to use the service to try to obtain content that is unsuitable for children or illegal, for instance by misusing the first-name field or the cuddly-toy photo. Such use leads to suspension of the account, without refund of the credits used.
5. Free first book and credits
Each book costs one credit. The credit is reserved when creation starts, deducted for good when the book is finished, and returned automatically if creation fails for good (technical error or refusal by the checks). Restarting a failed book reserves a credit again, the one that has just been returned.
When the account is opened, the first book is free: one welcome credit is granted. It has no monetary value, is neither refundable nor transferable and is granted only once per person; it may be withdrawn in the event of abuse, in particular when the same person opens several accounts.
Beyond that first book, creating a book requires an active subscription (section 6). Prices are shown in euros, net of tax (VAT not applicable, art. 293 B of the French General Tax Code), on the Pricing page; they may change for the future under the conditions of section 16. A payment that is refunded or disputed with the bank removes the matching credits from the account; if those credits have already been used, the balance becomes negative until the next payment.
6. Subscriptions and extra books
Two subscriptions are offered: “Petit explorateur” (Little Explorer), €5.99 per month for 5 books per month, and “Explorateur” (Explorer), €9.99 per month for 10 books per month. Each is an open-ended contract, paid every month, with no minimum term; the month’s credits are granted at each paid instalment. Books of the month that are not used are not carried over to the following month. The subscriber can switch plans at any time from My account; the change takes effect at the next instalment.
Extra books. A subscriber can buy extra books, €1.99 each, as a one-off payment. They are reserved for subscribers and can be used as long as the subscription is active. When the subscription ends, an unused extra book remains usable for thirty days; after that, it is refunded on written request to contact@aikomakids.com. A book created with an extra book stays in the library, even after the subscription ends (section 7).
Online cancellation, at any time. The user cancels from My account, with no reason or fee. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, during which the subscription remains active; no payment is taken afterwards. Any price increase of a subscription is announced at least one month before it applies; the subscriber may then cancel free of charge.
7. Keeping your library
The books created with subscription credits or with the free book remain in the account’s library as long as the subscription is active, then for thirty days after it ends. For an account that has never subscribed, that period is thirty days from the opening of the account. After that period, these books are erased for good: illustrations, texts and reading audio.
The books created with an extra book bought individually are not erased when the subscription ends: they remain in the library until the user deletes them or deletes their account.
The parent is warned in advance of any erasure, in their library and by email. They can download each book as a PDF at any time before erasure, to keep it, print it and read it again without any time limit.
8. Payment and order
Payments are processed by our secure payment provider, Stripe. AI-Koma Kids never receives or keeps card numbers. Before paying, the user expressly asks to have their books immediately (section 9); they then confirm their order on the payment page, which commits them to pay. Credits are added to the account only after Stripe has confirmed the payment. Payments and the subscription status can be viewed in My account.
9. Right of withdrawal
The consumer user has fourteen days from their purchase to withdraw, without giving a reason and at no cost, by writing to contact@aikomakids.com, for instance using the model below.
The subscription and extra books give access to digital content supplied immediately. By creating a book before the end of the fourteen-day period, the user, who expressly asked for it at the time of purchase, acknowledges losing their right of withdrawal for the subscription period begun or for the extra book used (French consumer code, art. L221-28). A subscription under which no book has yet been created, or an unused extra book, bought less than fourteen days ago, is refunded by the original payment method within fourteen days of the request; withdrawal also stops the subscription, with no further payment.
Model withdrawal form (complete and return only if you wish to withdraw): “To Florent Puccini, entrepreneur individuel (EI), Chemin de la Daby, 83330 Le Beausset, France, contact@aikomakids.com: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the supply of the following digital content: [subscription or extra book]. Ordered on: [date]. Name of consumer: [name]. Account email address: [address]. Date: [date].”
10. Conformity, guarantee and availability
Artificial intelligence models can make mistakes: a character drawn slightly differently from one page to the next, an inconsistent detail, a clumsy sentence, a reading voice that stumbles on a first name. AI-Koma Kids strives to provide a service that matches its description, but does not guarantee that a book matches the user’s expectations exactly.
These limits do not deprive the consumer user of the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (French consumer code, art. L224-25-12 and following): for two years for a one-off supply (extra book), and for the whole duration of the supply for the subscription. In the event of a lack of conformity, they are entitled to have it brought into conformity free of charge or, failing that, to a price reduction or to termination of the contract. The service may be interrupted for maintenance or if a provider fails; a creation that fails for that reason is not charged, its credit is returned.
11. Ownership and use of the books
Books created from the user’s account are intended for personal and family use: reading them online, downloading them, printing them, giving them to family members. AI-Koma Kids claims no rights over the text and illustrations so produced for that use. Any commercial use of the books is excluded, and the catalogue characters remain the property of AI-Koma Kids: they may neither be reused outside the books created on the website nor included in a product for sale. The law does not always recognise copyright in content generated by artificial intelligence, and similar stories may be created for other families.
If the user shows a book outside the family circle, they state that it was generated by artificial intelligence (the book says so itself on its last page and in the PDF properties).
12. Personal data
The user’s data and the deliberately limited data concerning the child (age range, optional first name) are processed as described in the privacy policy, including by providers established outside the European Union. Books are never published or used to train models.
13. Suspension and end of the account
AI-Koma Kids may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these terms, in particular of sections 2 and 4, of payment fraud, of a payment disputed with the bank (the account is then suspended while it is examined) or of abuse of the service, for instance opening several accounts to obtain several free books. The decision gives its reasons and can be contested by writing to contact@aikomakids.com. Except in the case of a breach, the unexpired part of the subscription and the unused extra books of an account closed on AI-Koma Kids’ initiative are refunded.
14. Liability
The user is responsible for the choices they make, for the use they make of the books and for accompanying their child while reading. Towards a consumer user, AI-Koma Kids’ liability is incurred under the conditions provided by law. Towards a professional user, it cannot be incurred for indirect damage, nor beyond the sums paid over the last twelve months, except in the case of gross negligence.
15. Complaints, mediation and applicable law
Any complaint is first sent in writing to contact@aikomakids.com. If no solution is found, the consumer user may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator, at the latest one year after their written complaint: Médiation de la Consommation & Patrimoine (MCP), 12 square Desnouettes, 75015 Paris, mcpmediation.org.
These terms are governed by French law. A consumer user who lives in another country keeps the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country. Failing an amicable agreement, the competent courts are those designated by the ordinary rules of law. The English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German versions of these terms are courtesy translations; the French version prevails.
16. Changes to the terms
AI-Koma Kids may change these terms. A significant change is announced on the website before it takes effect; for the subscription, it is announced at least one month in advance and the subscriber may cancel free of charge. The version applicable to a purchase is the one in force on its date.
